Marty Walshin touched the lives of many in the city of Yonkers. Marty's philanthropic support was matched only by the time and energy he gave to countless projects and organizations. Marty always maintained a strong sense of giving back to his community.

Iris Walshin was a standard bearer of philanthropy. She will be remembered as a woman whose charity and love eclipsed her personal tragedies. Her name is affixed to many edifices and, more importantly, in the hearts of many she has helped in small and large ways throughout her life.

The Foundation has been a Driving Range Sponsor for the ANDRUS Golf FORE Kids event the past ten years. This was their 15th Annual Golf Outing which was held at Ardsley Country Club in Ardsley, NY on June 18, 2019.

The Marty and Iris Walshin Foundation was proud to be a sponsor of the 2016 Breaking Parkinson's Golf Outing benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. This event was held at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY on July 24, 2016.

The Marty & Iris Walshin Family Medicinal Garden located at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In 2016 the Foundation supported ANDRUS's Mini-bikes program. Emotionally challenged children usually fear risks and physical challenges. The “Bikes” program offers them the excitement of racing with significant safety measures in place. The children maintain their bikes, thus building their sense of responsibility and pride of ownership. Accepting the challenge of the bike course engenders a sense of accomplishment, overcoming of fear, & the joy of childhood invincibility.

In 2019 The Foundation made a donation for the renovation and restoration of the Police and Fire Memorial of Yonkers. Located in Untermeyer Park and Gardens in Yonkers, New York it pays tribute to the City of Yonkers Police Officers and Firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

On November 7, 2015 The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia hosted a grand opening celebration for its Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care. One of the "Imaging Mock Scanner Rooms" was named In Honor of Donna and Helen Walshin. In the mock scanning room, children will learn what an MRI machine looks and sounds like, go over the tasks they will be asked to do while in the real scanner.

The Iris and Martin Walshin Police Athletic League Center building in Yonkers, NY is a converted 1916 National Guard Armory. The large footprint and it's spacious interior allow many diverse projects to be run for youths at the same time. This behemoth of a structure is the Second largest building in Westchester, just after the County Center.

The Foundation has been a Hole Sponsor for the Yonkers Police Athletic League's Golf Outing event in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. The 2014 Golf outing was held on October 9th at St. Andrews Country Club in Hastings on Hudson, NY.

The Foundation has been the Cocktail/Dinner Sponsor for The Marty and Iris Walshin Memorial Golf Outing benefiting St. John's Riverside Hospital for the past eleven years. The event was held at Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, NY on June 18, 2019 and benefited the enhancement of the Emergency Room at St. John’s.

The Donna Walshin Community Center is named after Iris and Marty's beloved daughter Donna. The Walshin's donated the building to the North Yonkers Preservation & Development Corporation. The Center is a not-for-profit organization that offers a range of services to the residents of North Yonkers.

Yonkers City Council Member Charles Cola, and Marty Walshin look on as Iris Walshin christens the very first Donna Walshin Community Center shuttle bus in 1981.

The first bus to pick up senior citizens and children from The Donna Walshin Community Center was donated by Iris and Marty Walshin. The shuttle bus provides transportation for seniors to stores within the Lake Avenue business district. Seniors can arrange for transportation to and from physicians, shopping malls and other recreational locations.

On September 23, 2011 The Foundation sponsored the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants Basketball Team vs. Yonkers PBA All-Stars. This event benefited the Yonkers PAL. Players were New York Giants Stephen Baker (85), Byron Hunt 57), Curtis McGiff (76), Lee Ruson (22), Billy Taylor (38) & others. The Cochran School of Nursing awards four Walshin Scholarships every year to the highest performing Cochran Students. Upon graduation, the recipients of this scholarship receive an Award Bar to be worn attached to the Cochran School of Nursing Pin which has "Walshin Scholar" engraved on it.

The Marty and Iris Walshin Foundation’s logo graced the #4 Children’s Tumor Foundation/TRG Porsche GT3 at the Racing4Research Rolex 24 in Daytona, FL. on January 29, 2011. The #4 car finished 8th in the GT class, and helped raise more than $400,000 for Neurofibromatosis (NF) research.

The kitchen at the Iris and Martin Walshin PAL Center was funded by the Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation and named in honor of Iris for raising the funds for the kitchen and for cooking many meals for PAL functions. All those who knew Iris know of her authoritarian way of running a kitchen.

The Marty and Iris Walshin Foundation made a contribution of $500,000 to St. John's Riverside Hospital 2010 Capital Campaign at The Iris and Marty Walshin Memorial Golf Outing in 2009.

Iris Walshin looks on at the 2008 JCY-Scholarship Brunch. The foundation awards two Walshin Entrepreneurial Scholarships through the JCY/Westchester Community Partners. One each to both a graduating female & male who have excelled academically. They must demonstrate an interest in business, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit.

Chas was donated to the Yonkers Police Department in June of 1995 by Marty Walshin. Chas and his partner Police Officer Edward Potanovic served as a K-9 team and provided the City of Yonkers with seven years of faithful service. Chas made many arrests most of which were felonies.
